Founder of Frankie’s Bikinis Tours Us Through Her Malibu Abode

We met up with Francesca (of Frankies Bikinis) at her beautiful home in Malibu, where she graciously offered to show us some hot-spots and gave us a sneak peek into a day in her life. We started off our morning by chatting over a cup of green tea and as Frankie flipped through a vegan cookbook, we asked her a few need-to-know questions for our readers…
SWELL: What is your go-to bikini style?
Frankie: A good tie side, cheeky bottom paired with a triangle top. I feel like a triangle style really elongates you and it’s flattering on everyone.

SWELL: What is your biggest inspiration when designing?
Frankie: I look a lot at what the girls on the beach are wearing for functionality and when I see a suit that’s great for surfing, I take it and add cute detailing and make it us.
After we finished our green tea, Frankie took us through her daily routine when she’s not at her Downtown Los Angeles office working on designing, approving and shipping.

7:00AM: Wake up, stretch, and brew a nice large cup of green tea. Frankie’s breakfast usually consists of avocado on toast. She is an extremely healthy eater, amongst the vegan cookbook we caught her flipping through earlier, we found a few gluten-free editions as well!
8:00AM: Workout at the local Pilates studio or spin class.
10:30AM: Post workout rejuvenation with Sun Life Organic. Depending on the day and hunger level she will choose from a green smoothie or a delicious Acai bowl…trust us you can’t go wrong with either choice! The restaurant is beautifully decorated with large crystals and inspiring quotes that make it the perfect snack-pit-stop!
12:00PM: Throw on one of her sexy bikinis, her favorite of the season being the KOA set, because of the chest cutout and the floral crochet details on both pieces. Grab a board, and hit Little Dume private beach. We hike down through a forest-like pathway to find a private beach that is perfect for surfing or SUP.
3:00PM: After working up an appetite, she takes us to her favorite lunch spot on the Malibu Pier-Malibu Farm, which offers healthy, scrumptious bites to eat…and the view is not bad either!
Frankie then heads to her DTLA office to get in some work; after all, she is the youngest designer to ever show at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim in Miami! She tells us, that achievement is super exciting not only for her brand but her as a designer.
